Privacy policy

This policy explains what information RetainingWallGuide (“we”) collects through this website and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Calculator inputs. The calculator runs in your browser. We don’t need your contact details to show an estimate.
  • Project requests. If you ask us to connect you with a contractor, we collect what you enter: project type, location, wall details, description, name, phone and optional email. We also record the consent text you agreed to and when.
  • Phone verification. We may text you a code to confirm your number before your request is shared.
  • Contact link clicks. When you click a contractor’s phone number or website link, we add one to a daily count for that listing, so we can see how listings are used. We don’t record who clicked. Phone numbers on this site are the contractors’ own numbers: we don’t route, track or record calls.
  • Technical logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to run and secure the site. We don’t use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

How we share project requests

With your consent, we share your request with one participating contractor: the one you chose, or one that serves your address and offers the type of work you described. We pass it to one other participating contractor only if you ticked the separate, optional box allowing that and the first contractor can’t take it or doesn’t respond. We don’t sell your details to multiple contractors at once. Contractors who receive your request use it to contact you about your project under their own privacy practices.

How long we keep it

We keep project requests and consent records for as long as we need them to pass on your request, answer questions or disputes about it, and meet legal obligations. After that we delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, by using the details on our contact page.
